RE: Downsize from Class A

That is disappointing to hear about the actual MPG. I agree it would be a waste of money to change based on fuel economy alone. We don't have the luxury of taking extended trips, so we roll up a lot of miles in short amounts of time to get to the destinations we like. Driving the F-53 400+miles per day is exhausting to say the least. I'd like to get into Diesel so I have something that I feel more comfortable racking up the miles. Possibly switching to a View would give us something that we could use for 10 years and the switch over to DP when we have time for extended trips. All just food for thought. We'll get another summer of travelling in what we have.

Downsize from Class A

Has anyone downsized from Class A to smaller Class C? I really love the space in our class A, but with gas prices continuing to climb, I've been considering a change to something like the Winnebago View. We average about 10,000 miles a year on the coach at 6 MPG, so the switch would save about $4400 a year in fuel costs, and would certainly be less fatiquing to drive. But, we sure would have to give up a lot of space and storage.

RE: Northeast Ski Camping

For what it's worth, my wife has talked me out of combining skiing with MH camping. We started to think about what it looks like at home when we come back from day of skiing with everyone drying boots, airing out jackets, etc.. and realized it probably would be a difficult task.

RE: Northeast Ski Camping

I like to CC myself, and I found that Gunstock has a nice Nordic center. I also talked with North Pole Resorts about Winter camping. Given the proximity to Whiteface, there may be close access to the miles of XC trails in that region. I spent a week in Lake Placid about 5 years ago and it was great to ski whiteface for a couple of days and then hit the XC trails. There is nothing more peaceful than the XC trails interconnecting the different nordic centers.

Northeast Ski Camping

We'd like to take the RV for a winter trip somewhere in the Northeast to ski. Does anyone have suggestions for resorts that will allow camping in the parking lots, or campgrounds near a ski area that would be open in winter?

2008 Taurus X flat tow?

Does anyone know if the 2008 Taurus X can be flat towed? Does it make a difference if FWD or AWD? Thanks
